NEW OPERATOR SIGNED FOR PINELLA

In September an operator lease was signed for Pinella, a Sunborn property by the river Aura in Turku. The new operator, Son of a Punch Oy, will bring two separate concepts to the venue – Liberty or Death, a trendy Brooklyn inspired cocktail bar and Pizzeria Via Tribunali, a multi-awarded, authentic Neapolitan pizza restaurant.

Sunborn is looking forward to the opening; “It’s great to have the award-winning and prestigious pizzas to delight the people of Turku and a unique bar concept specialising in cocktails, to continue the story of our historic property. I believe the restaurant and bar concept is perfect for our vibrant and forward thinking city,” says Riikka Kuusniemi, CEO of Sunborn Events.

Scheduled to open in November, Pizzeria Via Tribunali has been awarded as the best pizzeria in Finland. Quality standards are monitored by the non-profit pizza association Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana. Pizzeria Via Tribunali is the first operator in Finland and the only one in the Nordic countries to have earned accreditation for several restaurants.

“Neapolitan pizza is said to be the most delicious pizza in the world. The deliciousness is guaranteed by the tasty, fluffy base, which has been raised for 20 hours, fresh ingredients and a minute of baking time in a 450-degree open-fire oven. Thanks to the short baking time, the fillings do not dry out, but keep their fresh taste inside. Neapolitan pizza differs from Roman and American-style pizzas in both its base and baking time, but also in the simplicity of the fillings. The intention is not to put what you can find in the cupboard in a Neapolitan pizza, but the ingredients are precisely defined to create the right harmony of taste, ” says Antti Kuitunen, Via Tribunali restaurant manager.
